Day 2 -- Beach

Shatter Cone

While the Conference went on for three days of meetings
I was free to explore Montreal -- mostly from the Parc de Mont Royal

I had a wonderful three days to enjoy.  Some sights:
          Many people exercising
An aggressive squirrel hopped onto the table where I sat and looked me in the eye - demanding food!
Cross country trainers on short skiis with wheels, going uphill.
Snow pile in the construction area outside the park.  Enough for some folk to throw snowballs.
A group of young mothers pushing baby strollers while exercising with a leader.
LONG, LONG line of school girls walking uphill past the Smith House.  Each group carried a banner.
I asked some folk what that was about and they said it was a walk against breast cancer.
From the numbers walking, it had to be every school in the Quebec Province.
Also not to be forgotten:
The sound and light show at the Basilica de Notre Dame.  It was excellent
The Museum of Fine Arts.  They had an exhibit on E-art.

After the Conference, we drove down to the Adirondacks
and enjoyed the Sandy Point motel with its private screened in porch and view of Long Lake
